At their meeting today, the Washington County Board of Commissioners passed Ordinance 848, which requires drug manufacturers that sell their products in Washington County to provide and fund a safe and convenient way to dispose of unused medications. The ordinance goes into effect on June 6.

Dogs on Parade, an annual community event hosted by the Bonnie Hays Animal Shelter, takes place July 24 during the Hillsboro Tuesday Night Market at the Hillsboro Civic Center plaza.

The Bonnie Hays Animal Shelter in Hillsboro will be open on the Fourth of July from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. to take in stray animals and reunite lost pets with their owners.
