Washington County Health and Human Services (HHS) is accepting applications to fund an innovative community-based project that serves older adults with the purpose of improving outcomes related to anxiety and depression.

Every three years, HHS conducts a community health assessment using a variety of data sources, including input from the community. Through this process, HHS is able to identify important health issues in the community. To address these issues, HHS, in partnership with other community organizations, develops a community health improvement plan. One priority area of the current plan is to address older adult behavioral health issues.

The grant opportunity is called the Older Adult Behavioral Health Community Project. One grant of up to $120,000 will be awarded to an innovative community-based project that serves older adults with the purpose of improving outcomes related to anxiety and depression. The focus must be on senior companionship, peer support or intergenerational mentoring.

The application deadline is December 7. Contact Kera Magarill at 503-846-3090 for more information.
