After two years of planning, the Hawthorn Walk-in Center for Mental Health and Addictions Care opened today (May 23, 2017). Located at 5240 NE Elam Young Parkway, Suite 100, in Hillsboro, this is Washington County’s first mental health urgent care center.

Visitors to Scoggins Valley Park at Henry Hagg Lake are urged to use personal floatation devices at all times, regardless of swimming ability. Parents and other responsible adults must monitor their children’s activities at all times and ensure they wear properly fitted personal floatation devices when on, in or near the water.

Agencies and organizations throughout Washington County will participate in a disaster communications exercise today. Public guidance about disaster preparedness is available at key websites.
