For Immediate Release: Friday, May 12, 2017
Meek and Scotch Church roads are now open at Jackson School Road effective 3 p.m. Friday, May 12. Delayed due to an unusually cold and wet winter and spring, Meek and Scotch Church roads were closed for five months for the construction of the new roundabout.
The roundabout on Jackson School Road opened to traffic April 9, allowing the crews to remove the old section of Jackson School Road and build a new connection to Scotch Church Road. Final pavement was completed on Meek and Scotch Church roads May 10.
The roads will be closed for the Hippie Chick Quarter Marathon, scheduled from 8-noon Saturday (May 13). Another short closure will occur for striping when weather permits.
