Proclamations in recognition of Building Safety Month and National Public Works Week were approved by the Washington County Board of Commissioners during its regular meeting on May 7 in support of work performed by Department of Land Use & Transportation (LUT) staff.

In celebration of the new signal at the eastbound U.S. 26 off-ramp at Cedar Hills Boulevard, travelers can pick up free coffee from 7-9 a.m. Thursday, May 9, in the Peterkort Towne Square at Cedar Hills Boulevard and Barnes Road.

Motorists are no longer required to have traction devices on tires when traveling in the Washington County snow zones on 175th Avenue, Barnes Road and Cornell Road.

Washington County has activated all three of the snow zones. Locations are as follows:<br />• 175th Avenue, between Scholls Ferry and Rigert roads.<br />• Barnes Road, 118th Avenue east to the County line, adjacent to a city of Portland snow zone<br />• Cornell Road, Cedar Hills Boulevard east to the County line<br />
