Washington County Sheriff’s Deputies assisted by other agencies including the U.S. Marshals captured two wanted fugitives.  One suspect had warrants for bank robbery and the other was wanted for numerous crimes including parole violations.  Both were considered armed and dangerous.

The City of Cornelius, in partnership with Centro Cultural of Washington County, will provide a holiday dinner for members of the community in need. This hot meal will be offered at no cost and is expected to feed about 600 people.

Early Saturday morning a woman drove off the road, through the grass at the Cornelius City Hall and crashed into the building.  She did not stay at the scene of the crash.  She was arrested for DUII and other charges and then lodged in the Washington County Jail.

This evening, November 8, 2014, Daniel Christopher Timothy Chad Wyant, 41, from Beaverton was discharged from the hospital and lodged in the Washington County Jail.

The Washington County Interagency Gang Enforcement Team (IGET) captured two men who are believed to have been involved in a drive-by shooting.

Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a crash where a vehicle left the roadway and rolled. The vehicle was occupied by the driver and one passenger. The driver did not survive his injuries.

Washington County Sheriff’s Traffic Team Deputies assisted deputies serving the City of Cornelius enforce pedestrian safety in the city.

A Sheriff’s Deputy attempted to stop a stolen vehicle that refused to yield to him. The vehicle eventually crashed into the ditch and both men were arrested.

Deputy Chris Gilderson was acting in his official capacity as a Deputy Sheriff when he arrested Mr. Abdiwali Hussein on December 31, 2013, for Second Degree Theft and Supplying Alcohol to a Minor.

Early this morning, deputies responded to a roll-over crash on Highway 26 where at least one person was ejected and two others fled the scene. They were eventually found and the driver is facing charges.
