On Friday, December 29, 2023, at 2:28 a.m., Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a request for assistance from Astoria Police Department in locating a reckless driver who took off from them after attempting a traffic stop.

On Sunday, December 24, 2023, at 2:21 a.m., Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a break-in alarm at the Rice Northwest Museum of Rocks and Minerals at 26385 NW Groveland Drive in unincorporated Washington County.

On Monday, February 6, 2023, deputies from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a reported assault at 11475 SW Tonquin Road. A 47-year-old male victim reported being ambushed and shot outside his business office.

In conjunction with the December holiday shopping season, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office recently began targeting thieves who steal packages delivered to porches across the county.

On Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at approximately 4:30 PM, an adult in custody (AIC) notified a deputy working in one of the housing units that two AICs were unresponsive and not breathing in the recreation area.
