Washington County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested a woman who is alleged to have forged at least 20 prescriptions for narcotic cough syrup with the intent to sell in California. 

Washington County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested a man after allegedly strangling and assaulting his girlfriend.

Results from the Sheriff’s Office extended impaired driving enhanced patrol from December 12, 2014, through January 3, 2015. During that time, Washington County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested 77 impaired drivers.

Sheriff’s Deputies responded to an early morning crash where a vehicle left the roadway and rolled after passing another vehicle.  The vehicle was occupied only by the driver who did not survive his injuries.  There were no other injuries in this crash.

Today, a man crashed into the rear of a car at a stop light and then fled the scene. Deputies located the suspect just after he ran off the road and rolled his vehicle. He received minor injuries in the crash.

Washington County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a domestic disturbance where a woman reported she had been injured by her husband. Shortly after the Sheriff’s Deputies arrived, the husband pointed a gun at them, forcing the deputies to respond with lethal force. The man was pronounced deceased at the scene.

On Saturday December 27, 2014, a Cornelius woman started a fire in the duplex unit she shared with two other people.  An additional three people lived in the adjoining unit.  The duplex is a total loss, all the residents are displaced and she has been arrested for Arson.

On Saturday December 27, 2014, Washington County Detectives arrested a Hillsboro man who was downloading child pornography while using free WiFi at a local business. He has a previous conviction for the same type of crime.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office Jail Programs staff coordinated with the Washington County Re-entry Council (WCRC) to provide Christmas gifts for children of inmates.

Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a crash where a vehicle left the scene and shortly afterward crashed again. The driver was arrested and charged with several crimes.

Today, Sheriff’s deputies arrested a juvenile for rummaging through and stealing items from unlocked cars. Six victims have been identified and their belongings have been returned
