Early this morning, Sheriff’s deputies responded to a reckless driver in the Aloha area. They located the car after it hit several other cars and narrowly missed some road-construction workers. The driver led deputies on a short pursuit where they eventually used spike strips and a PIT maneuver to stop the vehicle. No one was injured during the incident.

A male was found unconscious under a large tree limb behind a residence in the Garden Home neighborhood. He was transported to OHSU and<br />later died from his injuries.

On April 4th, 2017, at about 11:00 p.m., Mr. Vonshields called police dispatch and notified them he was not missing and had returned home. Sheriff’s Detectives have confirmed that Mr. Vonshields has returned home and is no longer in danger.

During the month of March, Washington County Sheriff's Deputies arrested 71 impaired drivers. Of those DUII arrests, 20 were made by deputies working grant funded overtime provided by the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
