Road crews prepared for pavement ‘bleeding’

This week’s anticipated heat wave could result in pavement bleeding. "Bleeding" is the term used for the shiny, oily-looking film of asphalt binder that appears on a road during prolonged periods of high temperatures. Bleeding can cause roads to become somewhat slippery, which road crews control by applying sand.

Dump Truck Crashes Into Railroad Trestle

A dump truck failed to lower its dump bed and struck a railroad trestle. Northwest Helvetia Road near Northwest Phillips Road and the railway are closed until further notice. The driver sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene by Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue.
