In late October 2024, a Violent Crimes Unit detective from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of sexual abuse in the City of Cornelius.

In late January 2025, a detective from the Violent Crimes Unit for the Washington County Sheriff’s Office began investigating reports of a man exposing himself to women and performing acts of indecency.

On Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at 10:00 p.m., a Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputy saw a vehicle drive off at a high rate of speed from a business near the intersection of SW 185th Avenue and SW Tualatin Valley Highway.

On Sunday, January 12, 2025, at about 2:30 p.m., Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a welfare check for a woman who had fallen out of a kayak while recreating on the Tualatin River near Meriwether National Golf Club.

On Friday, January 24, 2025, at 12:13 a.m., Oregon State Police notified Washington County law enforcement about a white Infiniti sedan that had eluded them in Tillamook County.

Deputies arrested a man wanted for armed robbery out of Mississippi after he attempted to flee in a vehicle and on foot. The man was found with a large sum of cash and armed with a handgun.

On Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at about midnight, Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a report of tires being slashed near NW Central Drive in Bethany Village.

On Saturday, January 18, 2025, at 2:21 p.m., Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a reported apartment fire in the 18600 block of SW Mapleoak Lane in the community of Aloha.

On February 6, 2025, Wymon Smith was arrested again after additional victims came forward, and a grand jury indicted him for new crimes.

On Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at 3:34 a.m., Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to reports of a suspicious vehicle near the 500 block of SW Elderbrook Place in the West Haven neighborhood of unincorporated Washington County.
