On Tuesday, February 28, 2023, details of the 1988 murder were presented to a Washington County grand jury. After hearing all the evidence, the grand jury indicted Mr. Atrops for one count of murder in the second degree.

On January 2, 1983, Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the 17300 block of SW Rivendell Drive in the Durham neighborhood. Randal “Randy” McEvers called 911, stating his wife, 28-year-old Nancy McEvers, had committed suicide.

On Monday, February 27, 2023, deputies assigned to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office Court Security Unit brought 28-year-old Edi Villalobos from the Washington County Jail to the Washington County courthouse for his scheduled trial.

On Saturday, February 25, 2023, at 9:27 p.m., Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a reported hit and run at NW Glencoe Road and NW Zion Church Road in unincorporated Washington County.

On Wednesday, February 22, 2023, at 12:28 a.m., Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a disturbance between a man and woman at an apartment in the 5700 block of SW Oleson Road.

On Tuesday, February 20, 2023, at 11:30 p.m., officers from the Portland Police Bureau (PPB) located Edward Loo in NW Portland. The Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the community and PPB for their help in finding Loo.

Drone and Canine Team Locate Theft Suspects

On Friday, February 3, 2023, at 3:17 a.m., Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a theft call in the 26000 block of SW Wolsborn Avenue.

The Sheriff’s Office Recruitment Team is hosting a Hiring Workshop on THURSDAY, MARCH 2, from 6 PM – 8 PM at our Public Safety Training Center in Hillsboro (600 SW Walnut Street). This workshop is open to anyone interested in a law enforcement career.
