According to the National Resource Center on Domestic Violence, nearly one in four women and one in seven men experience severe physical violence by an intimate partner. As Domestic Violence Awareness Month comes to an end, we highlight the Washington County Sheriff’s Office commitment to combat domestic violence year round.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office responded to a shots fired call early this morning in a Northwest Portland neighborhood. No one was struck by the bullets; five people were arrested on various charges after the investigation.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office responded to a single vehicle crash today on SW Tonquin Road. A delivery truck ran off the road knocking over<br />a power pole. The driver suffered only minor injuries.

October 14, 2015—Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a report of a motorcycle rider who crashed and was later pronounced deceased at the scene.

October 10, 2015 –Ms. Mabe was located at about 1:30 a.m. this morning by a Hood River Sheriff's Deputy traveling west on Interstate 84. The deputy stayed with Ms. Mabe until family could drive out and bring her home.

The woman involved in the confrontation with Sheriff’s Deputies has been identified as Phyllis Ilene Jepsen, 55, from Aloha. She was pronounced deceased at the hospital and her next of kin have been notified.

On September 27, 2015, a concerned family member contacted a Sheriff’s Deputy, serving the City of Cornelius, to report Matthew Pugh, 25, from Cornelius had been missing since the day before.
