Today, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) celebrates the retirement of married couple, Lieutenant Cindy Mackley and Sergeant Ted Mackley after almost 50 combined years of honorable service to Washington County.

Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a reported robbery with a firearm with two men who fled in a vehicle. Deputies located and arrested the men a short time later.

Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a crash where a vehicle left the roadway and crashed.  The vehicle was only occupied by the driver who did not survive his injuries. <br />

Yesterday Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call of a “man with a knife” at the Frontier Communication equipment yard in Cornelius.  Employees caught the man attempting to steal equipment and tried to detain him.

Public tips have led Sheriff’s Detectives to positively identify the two witnesses previously photographed. 

Washington County Sheriff’s Detectives are searching for the identity of two men that may be possible witnesses to an intentionally set house fire on park owned property.

Saturday, June 20, the public is invited to watch K-9 teams in action at the 10th Annual Washington County Sheriff’s Office and Police K-9 Trials. Defending their 2014 Top Dog title will be Washington County Sheriff Deputy Akin and K-9 Stark. The event is from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Washington County Fair Complex (873 NE 34th Avenue, Hillsboro) and is FREE to the public.

A man was arrested for DUII after he rolled his vehicle in rural Washington County. Sheriff’s Deputies determined the use of alcohol was a contributing factor to the crash.

A convicted felon robbed a driver at Taser point and then fled the scene after backing into a parked car.  Deputies located the suspect and arrested him on related charges.

Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a crash involving a motorcycle and a car.  The rider was listed in serious condition at the hospital.
