CPO 1 meeting announcement for Tuesday, September 13.

Washington County will hold a brief, outdoor ceremony at noon on Tuesday, September 20 to retrieve a time capsule which was buried in 1990.

Take part! CPO 6 meets 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 1 at Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue Community Room, 20665 SW Blanton St., Aloha. Main topic: new Wood Stove Exchange rebate program.

Qualifying residents can receive a rebate of $1,500-$3,500 when they replace their old or uncertified wood stove with a cleaner heating device. In some cases, the replacement will be free.

Community Participation Organizations (CPOs) have a new set of webpages this month as part of a programmatic transition from OSU Extension Service to the Washington County organization.

Washington County officials have been notified that Moody’s Investors Service has assigned its highest rating, “Aaa,” to the County’s $77 million General Obligation Bonds, Series 2016, designated to replace and upgrade the current 9-1-1 emergency communications system.

Washington County’s approved $1 billion all-funds budget includes upgrades and repairs to facilities and technology as well as modest investments in mental health care, community engagement and affordable housing.
