Senior Health Insurance Benefits Assistance (SHIBA)
SHIBA volunteers help Medicare beneficiaries make informed health insurance decisions by providing confidential, unbiased health insurance assistance. They identify gaps in insurance laws and regulations and communicate those problems to policymakers. Counselors work in the office or field settings or over the phone and are needed in both Washington and Columbia counties.
Benefits Enrollment Center
Volunteers help clients by defining their eligibility for key public benefits. They also help with the application process by assisting clients in completing and submitting benefit applications to partner agencies on the client's behalf.
Veterans Stand Down
The Stand Down is a one-day event that helps veterans in our community be providing them with a one-stop connection to key services in our area. A community-led partnership connects veterans with essential services along with a hot meal and supplies. Volunteers at Stand Down assist with event set up, event operations and event take down and clean up.
