On Friday, September 23, 2022, at 6:35 p.m., Washington County Sheriff's Office deputies assigned to the city of Cornelius got information that a wanted person had been seen near her home and then got into the passenger seat of a car.

On Sunday, September 18, 2022, at 2:36 a.m., Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to recreational ATV crash near Chehalem Ridge Nature Park. When deputies arrived, they found 46-year-old Matthew Brown of Cornelius deceased.

On Saturday, August 20, 2022, in the early morning hours, deputies responded to a report of gunfire at the Sunset Strip Gentlemen’s Club located at 10205 SW Park Way in Portland. Deputies learned a physical altercation occurred between 33-year-old Joshua Michael Best and an employee. When Best was asked to leave, he threatened to shoot them. The staff member involved in the altercation sustained minor injuries.

On September 10, 2022, at 7:20 p.m., deputies were dispatched to a rollover crash on SW Scholls Sherwood Rd. near SW Stark Rd., just outside of Sherwood. A witness reported seeing a BMW SUV speeding over 90 miles per hour before the driver went across the oncoming lane of traffic and into the ditch where the SUV rolled over.

Over the past four days, Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputies have taken three reports of a pair of thieves targeting victims and stealing their valuables. Each time, the suspects used suspicious tactics to steal from the victims.

In August 2022, a Washington County grand jury indicted 19-year-old Cesar Alvarez-Alcazar for the murder of 20-year-old Jose Rodriguez-Sanchez in February at a house party in Cornelius.

On Friday, September 9, 2022, at 4:23 p.m., Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a shooting near SW Division St. and SW 172 Ave. in Aloha. Deputies found an adult man with gunshot wounds and paramedics transported him to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries. He remains in critical condition.

On Wednesday, September 7, 2022, at 5:58 pm, an observant community member contacted Washington County Consolidated Communications Agency (WCCCA) after they saw 29-year-old Uriel Nava-Montoya walking on SW Blanton Street near SW 160th Avenue. The community member had seen the information provided by Beaverton School District and Washington County Sheriff’s Office asking for the public’s help in locating Nava-Montoya.

On September 4, 2022, Officers with Beaverton Police Department found 23-year-old Ronai “Hazel” Yetisen.

At the conclusion of the crash investigation, the Washington County District Attorney’s Office presented evidence regarding the July 23rd crash to a Grand Jury. On August 24, 2022, the Grand Jury issued an indictment charging the driver, 48-year-old Chad Wisniewski, with one count of manslaughter in the second degree. WCSO Deputies then arrested Wisniewski on the resulting warrant and lodged him in the Washington County Jail.
