Update: Body of Missing Endangered Man Positively Identified

On Saturday, October 29, 2022, at about 9:45 a.m., Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a report of human remains found in a wooded area near Hwy 6 and NW Storey Burn Road in the Tillamook Forrest

People recreating in the woods came across the human remains and called law enforcement. Based on the location of the remains and evidence found at the scene, deputies believed that they were of Thomas Geiger. The remains were confirmed to be Geiger by the Oregon State Police Medical Examiner’s Office.

There are no indications of foul play and the cause of death is still under investigation. Geiger’s family has been notified of his death.


Sheriff’s Office Asks for Help in Locating Missing Endangered Man

On Saturday, February 26, 2022, Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a report of a missing and endangered man. Thomas Geiger, age 46, was last seen leaving in a vehicle from his residence near Forest Grove at 8 a.m. on the morning of February 25. Family members located Geiger’s vehicle near Hwy 6 and NW Story Brun Road, but he was not inside it.

Geiger is a white male, 5’09”, 240 lbs., bald, and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a tan Carhartt jacket, blue jeans, a fur hat, and black shoes. Deputies have concerns about Geiger’s current mental health status and believe he is armed with a gun.
