Man Killed After Crashing Into Semi-Truck

A Newberg man was killed after crashing his car into a semi-truck.

On Thursday, February 27, 2025, at 3:59 a.m., Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a crash at SW Bald Peak Road and SW Elsinore Lane. The caller reported a person driving a car had crashed into a semi-truck.

Deputies learned the car was heading east on SW Bald Peak Road when the driver crashed into a westbound semi-truck, which was backing onto SW Elsinore Lane.

The driver of the car, 62-year-old Daniel Pfeiffer of Newberg, was pronounced deceased at the scene. Next of kin have been notified of his death. The semi-truck driver is cooperating with the investigation, and impairment does not appear to be a factor.

The Sheriff’s Office Crash Analysis Reconstruction Team (CART) responded to the scene and is investigating.
