Multiple Arrested in Organized Retail Theft Mission

On Saturday, November 23, 2024, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, Forest Grove, and the Tualatin Police Department collaborated with asset protection personnel from Target and Walmart to conduct an organized retail theft mission.

On Saturday, November 23, 2024, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, Forest Grove, and the Tualatin Police Department collaborated with asset protection personnel from Target and Walmart to conduct an organized retail theft mission at the following locations.

  • Target store at 10775 SW Beaverton Hillsdale Highway in Beaverton.
  • Target store at 12675 NW Cornell Road in Portland
  • Walmart store at 220 North Adair Street in Cornelius

During the mission, detectives from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office Property Crimes Unit and patrol deputies found people engaging in various deceptive and fraudulent practices inside the store. Asset protection personnel and law enforcement officers contacted multiple suspected shoplifters throughout the day.

  • Daniel Cochran, 37, of Beaverton
  • Michael Caraffa, 46, of Beaverton
  • Brisa Rodriguez-Arreola, 22, of Hillsboro,
  • Arlene Center, 66, of Beaverton
  • Gerrolyn Center, 40, of Beaverton
  • Gerald Center, 33, of Hillsboro
  • John Cavalli, 39, of Portland
  • Erico Huante, 37, of Beaverton

Washington County Sheriff’s Office patrol deputies and detectives will continue to partner with store loss prevention staff on future missions to deter criminal activity inside retail establishments in our county.

The District Attorney's Office secured a grant from the Oregon Criminal Justice Commission to fund missions combatting organized retail theft in concert with the Washington County Interagency Organized Retail Theft Taskforce.
