On Tuesday, November 19, 2024, at approximately 4:49 p.m., Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to reports of a collision between a pedestrian in a motorized scooter and a vehicle near 2240 Baseline Street in Cornelius. Responding medics pronounced the pedestrian deceased at the scene.
The pedestrian was identified as 51-year-old Tammera Whisman of Hillsboro. The family has been notified of her death.
The vehicle driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation. No criminal charges have been filed at this time.
The Washington County Crash Analysis Reconstruction Team responded to investigate.
