Update: Third Arrest Made in Aloha Shooting

Investigators have made a third arrest in connection with the shooting that took place early Monday morning in the parking lot of Eden Presbyterian Church near SW 185th Avenue and SW Longacre Street.

Investigators have made a third arrest in connection with the shooting that took place early Monday morning in the parking lot of Eden Presbyterian Church near SW 185th Avenue and SW Longacre Street.

21-year-old Kaylee Vanderpool of Portland was arrested by investigators and lodged in the Washington County Jail for hindering prosecution and tampering with physical evidence.

Update: Arrests Made in Aloha Shooting

Investigators have made two arrests so far in the shooting that happened in Aloha and have determined at least four people were involved in a confrontation leading to the shooting.

The two arrested are 21-year-old Matteo Greene, who lives in Portland, and a 17-year-old juvenile, also from Portland.

Interviews and surveillance video showed Greene and the 17-year-old attacked two other people before multiple people started shooting at each other. One victim was shot in the stomach and taken to a hospital with critical injuries.

Greene was shot in the leg during the exchange of gunfire and was arrested by investigators after being treated at a local hospital. Greene was lodged in the Washington County Jail for attempted murder in the second degree, assault in the first degree, and unlawful use of a weapon, as well as a probation violation.

The juvenile was arrested at the scene and later taken into custody by the Washington County Juvenile Department. The juvenile was arrested for attempted murder in the second degree and assault in the first degree.

Investigators found at least five neighboring homes were hit by gunfire, including rounds that went into living rooms and bedrooms. Families and children were inside several of those homes, but thankfully, no one in any of the houses was injured.

Detectives Investigating a Shooting in Aloha

On Monday, September 2, 2024, at 6:02 a.m., Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to an assault with a weapon call near the intersection of SW 185th Avenue and SW Selvarosa Court after a caller on 911 reported hearing multiple gunshots.

Investigators at the location have confirmed a shooting took place, and at least one victim has been transported to an area hospital.

Investigators do not believe there is a danger to the public at this time.

The investigation is ongoing, and additional details will be released later.
