Washington County partners with Ride Connection, Inc., to offer transportation services that connect people and communities.

We work with public transportation agencies to provide Community Connectors, last-mile shuttles, door-to-door, cross country service and rural workforce shuttles.

The online Short-Term Rentals Online Open House was available Dec. 11, 2020, to Jan. 8, 2021. It described proposed short-term rental license requirements and included a survey that received 326 responses.

In 2023 an open house was held to survey and gather input on focus areas for transportation improvements and in 2024 an open house was held to gather feedback on the proposed focus areas.

The Transportation Development Tax (TDT) is imposed on new development to pay for transportation needs created by development. Annual TDT rate increases are based on a five-year rolling composite construction cost index and are capped at 10% annually.

We oversee our 20-year transportation plan, conduct travel forecasting, oversee the countywide Transportation Development Tax and bicycle/pedestrian planning. We work with Metro, TriMet and Oregon Department of Transportation on regional transportation.

The Transportation System Plan (TSP) includes policies and strategies to meeting the needs of all travelers. It reflects the goals of the community and includes population and employment projections through 2040.
