Annual Housing Forum
Every year the Department of Housing Services, in collaboration with the Housing Advisory Committee and Homeless Solutions Advisory Council, hosts a forum on housing in Washington County and various topics surrounding housing in our community. For a look into our annual housing forums, check out our most recent event.
Listening Sessions
In August of 2024, the Washington County Department of Housing Services conducted two
listening sessions to gather community feedback on housing services and needs. These sessions -
one focused on service providers and another on the general public - painted a comprehensive
picture of both the successes and challenges in addressing housing insecurity in Washington
County. To see a report summarizing the findings from these listening sessions see below:
Housing Advisory Committee
It is the mission of the Housing Authority Advisory Committee (HAC) to advise the Board of Commissioners on policy matters, identify housing issues, and recommend programs and services for the low and moderate income residents of Washington County.
Resident Advisory Board
The Resident Advisory Board (RAB) provides the Housing Authority and the residents with a forum for sharing information about the Agency's Annual Plan.
Housing Authority Board of Directors
The Housing Authority of Washington County Board of Directors is made up of the Washington County Board of Commissioners, plus one At-Large member and one member who receives assistance from the Housing Authority.
Homeless Solutions Advisory Council
The Solutions Council (formerly the Homeless Plan Advisory Committee and Continuum of Care Board) will be appointed by the Washington County Board of County Commissioners to provide oversight and feedback on the work of the Homeless Services Division. Members will engage with and promote Washington County’s homelessness response plans, while encouraging collaborative partnerships across a wide array of service systems.
