David Herman was arrested in connection with the April 4, 2013 crash that resulted in Kylie Hornych’s death. On August 22, 2013, a Washington County Grand Jury handed down a secret indictment charging David Alan Herman with Second Degree Manslaughter and Reckless Driving.

Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the 5400 block of SW 152nd Avenue in Aloha concerning a reported stolen wheelchair. The father told deputies that someone took his nine year-old daughter’s wheelchair off of their front porch.

Applications are being accepted for the next Citizens’ Academy begins Tuesday, September 3, 2013, and runs through graduation which is Tuesday, November 5, 2013. Classes are held every Tuesday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., with three weekend classes during each session.

July 28, 2013 --Catlin and Harlie Screws have returned home. Their dad came in from Texas to take custody of them.

On Saturday, July 27, 2013 at approximately 4:30 p.m., Shai Jackson was located at Patti's Restaurant at 65 SW Yamhill St. in Portland. Portland Police Bureau (PPB) officers responded to a report by a patron at the restaurant and confirmed his identity.

Deputies took a report of a 15-year-old girl, Catlin Screws, who ran away with her 18-year-old sister, Harlie Screws. Catlin is listed as a runaway, Harlie is an adult.

Sheriff’s Deputies arrested a man after he attempted to steal a handgun from Discount Gun Sales. The store manager utilized his personal handgun to detain the robber until deputies arrived.  

Detectives arrest a father and son for sexually abusing young girls. Detectives fear there may be more victims who have not come forth.

Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the Northwest Gold Refinery jewelry store on a reported robbery. Deputies were told by the owner that a man entered the store and threatened him with a handgun

Sheriff’s Deputies received information to lead them to believe that Rafael Abinacer, 41, of Hillsboro had inappropriate sexual contact with a girl less than 14 years of age. He was arrested and lodged in the Washington County Jail on several charges.

Washington County Detectives are searching for additional sex abuse victims following the arrest of an Aloha man. It is believed there may be additional victims that have not come forth.

Sheriff's deputies responded to a house in Aloha where the residents reported that someone shot a bullet through their exterior wall. While deputies were investigating the incident, they heard another shot from the suspect’s house. After several hours a woman was arrested for discharging a firearm inside her house.

This is an update to a press release the Sheriff’s Office released on November 30, 2012. Today, at about 5:00 p.m., Denise Keesee, 38, turned herself into the Washington County Jail. She was charged with six counts of Sexual Abuse in the Second Degree.

Washington County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a park in Aloha in search of a wanted man. The fugitive ran from police when they attempted to make contact. He was arrested a short time later.
