Louis Jarvis Jr. turned himself in to the Washington County Jail where he is held on $50,000 bail. The Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the public and the media for their assistance with this case.

This afternoon, Sparkle Green was found safe in Portland. A concerned member of the public called the Portland Police Bureau who located Ms. Green safe within adequate accommodations. It was determined she was not in danger and was able to care for herself. The Sheriff’s Office appreciates the public’s assistance with this case.

Yesterday afternoon, a citizen tip helped sheriff’s deputies assigned to the city of Cornelius arrest a woman for stealing a large amount of mail.

The interviews of the officers involved in the shooting that occurred on December 25, 2016, have been concluded. The Washington County Major Crimes Team conducted interviews of five officers who fired their weapons during an armed confrontation with James Tylka after he shot and killed his wife then shot Trooper Cederberg.

Deputies Recover Rolling Stolen Vehicle following brief foot pursuit

Sheriff’s Deputies captured two men who were breaking into<br />cars and ignited two on fire. Sheriff’s Deputies arrested the men during their crime<br />spree in the south Aloha area. Detectives are searching for additional victims.

A 17-year-old was arrested today for stealing a Sheriff’s Office “bait package”. His father was with him at the time but was not arrested.

Sheriff’s deputies responded to a crash involving an Aloha<br />man who was reported missing in November. The driver did not survive the crash.

This morning at 9:43 a.m., Washington County Sheriff’s Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the area of The Reserve Golf Course. The passenger of the vehicle ran from deputies when they attempted to make contact.

On November 30, 2016, President Obama declared December as National Impaired Driving Prevention Month.

During the month of November, Sheriff’s Deputies arrested 119 people for Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants (DUII).

Last night a man was arrested after a six-hour standoff with Sheriff’s deputies.  The man was accused of setting his neighbors truck on fire and then threatening him with a gun.  He was eventually arrested and taken to jail.

Two women were arrested today after Sheriff’s deputies stopped a vehicle suspected in stealing mail in the community of Aloha.  A stolen gun was also recovered during the incident.

With your help, Washington County Sheriff’s Office Volunteers collected 1,087 new and gently used coats and about 120 additional items such as socks, scarves and gloves for people in need here in Washington County. Shop With A Cop Brings Cheer to Local Children For Holidays

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help in locating 31-year-old Benjamin J. Barber. Mr. Barber is wanted after failing to report to the jail to begin serving his sentence.
