The Washington County Sheriff’s Office responded to a training facility near the rural community of Timber.  A group was conducting training when the lead instructor was injured and was taken by Life Flight to OHSU with life threatening injuries.

The Washington County Sheriff's Office Community Public Safety Academy is accepting applications for volunteers to participate in this opportunity. The Community Public Safety Academy supports the Sheriff's Office effort to promote and preserve a safe community.

Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a possible burglary where the suspect fled in a stolen car.  He was located and arrested within minutes.

Deputies arrested a DUII driver that crashed into a tree, injuring his two passengers. 

A Washington County Sheriff's Deputy found Gary Bruce Walker, 59, from Tigard unresponsive in his cell.  Additional deputies responded and immediately began CPR until medical personnel arrived to assist and transported Mr. Walker to a local hospital.

Sheriff's deputies responded to a crash on SW 185th Avenue near SW Rigert Rd. Two people were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver was arrested for DUII and other charges.

This morning, Judge Thomas Kohl sentenced Kenneth Lee Hicks to life in prison for the 1982 homicide of Lori Billingsley in Aloha. This is believed to be the oldest case prosecuted in Washington County.

Sheriff’s Deputies arrested a Cornelius man for DUII as he was selling ice cream out of his van to children.

Yesterday Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call of a “man with a knife” at the Frontier Communication equipment yard in Cornelius.  Employees caught the man attempting to steal equipment and tried to detain him.

Public tips have led Sheriff’s Detectives to positively identify the two witnesses previously photographed. 

Washington County Sheriff’s Detectives are searching for the identity of two men that may be possible witnesses to an intentionally set house fire on park owned property.
