On April 26, 2013, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office was selected by the Oregon DUII Multi-Disciplinary Training Task Force as the County Agency-of-the-Year for 2012 for DUII enforcement. Washington County Sheriff’s Deputy Jason McLaughlin, was honored as the 2012 DUII Enforcement Deputy-of-the-Year.

Today at 2:49 p.m., Washington County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a report of a pipe bomb found in a field in rural Washington County. The Portland Bomb Squad responded and detonated the device.

Sheriff’s Detectives recovered four stolen vehicles and arrested three people. The arrests were made in a rural forested area in western Washington County where the stolen vehicles were recovered.

Washington County Sheriff's Office in partnership with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration is hosting a free drug turn in event on Saturday April 27, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Aloha Market Centre.

On April 10, 2013, Washington County Sheriff’s Detectives arrested Tony Hall-Rivas, 47, at his residence, located at 47570 NW Sunset Highway in the community of Manning. Mr. Hall-Rivas is a suspect in multiple incidents where he trespassed into a barn and sexually abused a gelding horse.

April 4, 2013—Sheriff’s Deputies respond to a crash where an 11-year-old girl was struck by a vehicle while she was in her front yard. The girl did not survive her injuries.

Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a crash where the driver struck a girl on the sidewalk. After hitting the girl, the driver fled the scene on foot. Citizens caught the driver and detained him until deputies arrived. 

Yesterday at about 4:22 p.m., Sheriff’s Deputies responded to an assault call in the area of SW Johnson Street and SW 200th Court. When deputies arrived they contacted a 17-year-old male who was bleeding from the mouth and had a swollen eye.

A dog alerted his owner to an unattended two and half year old boy who wandered into a pond. His mother was arrested for Criminal Mistreatment and Animal Neglect.

On April 2, 2013 at about 10:00 p.m., Westside Interagency Narcotics Team (WIN) Detectives responded to 23 North Baldwin Street in Portland. They located a functioning methamphetamine (meth) lab in the residence.

Today a mini-van driven by a 71-year-old man drove through the front of a house. The driver was transported to the hospital and no one in the house was injured.

A Washington County Sheriff's Deputy found a parked 1976 Chevrolet van with a utility trailer at SW 97th Avenue and SW McMillan Street in Raleigh Hills, an area of the Enhanced Sheriff’s Patrol District (ESPD).

During the weekend, Sheriff's Deputies responded to numerous crashes throughout the county. There were many reported crashes to include two DUII related crashes and one fatality.
