Daniel Cardinal, a former Sergeant at the Sheriff’s Office who resigned in May, pled “no contest” today to the crime of Official Misconduct.

Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a call in the community of Aloha where a car crashed through the wall of a house.  The driver was later arrested for DUII.

Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a robbery involving a stolen vehicle. Deputies tracked down and arrested Reiner Schmolling and a female accomplice.

Washington County Sheriff’s Arson Detectives arrested and charged a Portland man with arson. Detectives believe he targeted Tualatin Hills Park and Recreation District (THPRD) properties in the spring of 2015.

Sheriff’s Deputies will provide extra patrols on Washington County roadways to enhance safety for the holiday period.

Jonathan Christensen, a former Corporal at the Sheriff’s Office who was terminated in August, was arrested and charged with several crimes. 

The Oregon State Sheriff’s Association (OSSA) recognized seven members of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) for achievements in 2015. The annual conference was held in Bend on December 9, 2015. Seven WCSO individuals received awards across seven different categories, including “Sheriff of the Year” for 2015, awarded to Sheriff Pat Garrett.

Local stores generously donate to local children in need.

Washington County Sheriff’s Deputies, with the assistance of members of the Washington County Explorer Post, conducted an undercover compliance mission where teenagers attempt to buy alcohol from stores in Washington County.

Washington County Sheriff’s Office employees held a Top Needs Drive<br />and fundraiser for HomePlate. HomePlate is Washington County’s only non-profit provider<br />of drop-in centers and outreach for young people experiencing homelessness and housing<br />instability.

With your help, Washington County Sheriff’s Office Volunteers collected 1,247 new and gently used coats for people in need here in Washington County. That is a vast improvement from last year where 472 coats were collected.

Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a location of a dog that was reported stolen in December 2014.  The dog was located and the woman who reportedly stole him was arrested.

Washington County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a single vehicle crash west of Hillsboro on SW 331st Avenue.  Upon arrival, they found a single vehicle had crashed into a tree.

Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a crash where a vehicle crossed the center line and collided with another vehicle. One man did not survive his injuries.

Deputy Micah Akin and his dynamic K-9 partner “Stark” reached their 100th capture.

The City of Cornelius, in partnership with Centro Cultural of Washington County and the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, will provide a holiday dinner for members of the community during the Second Annual Cornelius Community Dinner.

Sheriff’s Detectives arrested six women and one man involved in prostitution. Detectives continually attempt to eliminate human trafficking of people of all ages and reduce the associated ancillary crimes.

Deputies arrested a DUII driver that struck a witness with their vehicle while the deputies were investigating a previous hit and run crash. 

Washington County Property Crime Unit Detectives are searching for additional financial fraud victims, mostly through contractor fraud, following the arrest of a Vancouver man.

A wanted violent fugitive shot multiple times at police as he attempted to evade capture. He received life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital. There were no injuries to law enforcement during this incident.
