On Thursday, September 19, 2019, at approximately 3:15 a.m., Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested a driver for DUII.  It was reported the driver travelled westbound down NW Sunset Highway, from SW Market Street in Portland to NW Murray Boulevard in Beaverton in the eastbound lanes.

On Thursday, September 12, 2019, at approximately 8:00 a.m., Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to several 9-1-1 calls about a man with a gun in the area of NW Old Quarry Road and NW 119th Avenue in unincorporated Washington County, north of Beaverton. 

On Tuesday, September 10, 2019 at approximately 6:00 p.m., Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a report of suspicious circumstances involving a man with a dog and two young girls.  A concerned mother told deputies that the man stopped his car in front of two children walking home in the 8800 block of NW Ash Street in an unincorporated part of Washington County near Portland.

On Tuesday, September 10, 2019, at approximately 7:05 a.m., Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputies serving the City of Banks were dispatched to reports of a man trying to force a woman inside a vehicle near the intersection of NW Highway 47 & NW Wilson River Highway.

On Friday, July 12th, 2019, at 1056 a.m., Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to an injury crash near the intersection of SW Farmington Road and SW 153rd Avenue. When deputies arrived, they located a serious crash between a 2012 Chrysler 300 and a 2013 Ford Fusion.

Since 2018, detectives with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office Violent Crimes Unit have been investigating allegations that a drivers education instructor at Portland Community College’s (PCC) Rock Creek campus was sexually abusing his students.

During our joint Labor Day DUII mission (August 30-31), 21 people were arrested through the combined efforts of seven metro-area agencies.

On Wednesday, August 28, 2019, at 5:59 p.m., Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a serious crash on SW Farmington Road, west of SW 196th Avenue. When deputies arrived, they discovered a 2007 Chrysler Sebring had collided with a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado.

On Tuesday, August 27, 2019, at 12:42 a.m., Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a report that an unknown male accosted a teenage girl walking in the area of NW 185th Avenue and NW Rock Creek Blvd. in Rock Creek.

On August 22, 2019, at 7:55 p.m., deputies were dispatched to reports of a serious crash near the intersection of SW Blanton Street and SW 175th Avenue in Aloha.

On Thursday August 8, 2019 at 2:16 p.m., two deputies and a suspect were shot while responding to a theft of a long gun at a residence in the 54700 block of SW Scoggins Valley Rd in Gaston. The suspect, Dante James Halling, 56, was eventually released from a local hospital and was arrested.

On Thursday, August 15, 2019, at 9:56 a.m., Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to an injury crash on Highway 26 westbound, just west of the NW Helvetia Road off-ramp.  When deputies arrived, they discovered five vehicles were involved. One of the vehicles was a commercial truck.

On Tuesday, August 6, 2019, at approximately 5:15 a.m., Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a theft in progress call at the Sylvan Heights Condominium Community in the 7700 block of Southwest Barnes Road. This is in the Sylvan area of unincorporated Washington County.

In July, our Property Crimes Unit intercepted a shipment of $15,000 in cash that an 83-year-old man tried to ship to Georgia.

Washington County Health and Human Services (HHS) is working with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and other County departments to distribute naloxone kits at no cost to those with the highest risk of opioid overdose. Naloxone (brand name Narcan) is a lifesaving medicine that reverses an opioid overdose.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office has received notification from the Portland Police Bureau that they located Nicole Murphy and her son Caiden late Thursday night.  They were found in Southeast Portland not far from the Plaid Pantry (SE 122nd Ave & SE Market St) where a witness had reported seeing them on Wednesday evening.  The boy was left in the care of a family member, but Nicole took off running as officers arrived.

On Tuesday, July 23, 2019, detectives from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office arrested 27-year-old Kaiwipaoaehikuonalani Amina on two counts of sexual abuse in the third degree. Mr. Amina is accused of inappropriately touching two former students in January 2017.

The victim of the fatal shooting in Rock Creek is being identified as 18-year-old Fermin Alonso-Alonso of North Plains, Oregon. Detectives continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident and are seeking information from anyone who attended the party or has information regarding the incident. On Monday, July 22, 2019, Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a suspicious house fire on SW Cherry Grove Drive and SW Fir Street in the Cherry Grove area of unincorporated Washington County, near Gaston.
