Roberts Sex Offender Notification

A sex offender, Joshua James Roberts, will be released from prison on Friday, March 20, 2015. Upon release, Mr. Roberts will reside at the Community Corrections Center in Hillsboro on a transitional basis, and will remain on post-prison supervision until December 2018.

Ordinance No. 805 removes a segment of Primary Street P2 between NW Kaiser Road and Primary Street P3 in the North Bethany Subarea, and modifies the number and location of planned north-south pedestrian trail crossings of Bethany Creek. These changes were requested by Clean Water Services in order to minimize impacts to adjacent wetlands and Bethany Creek, and to facilitate a planned stream restoration and wetland enhancement project. Amendments are made to the North Bethany Subarea maps in Policy 43 of the Comprehensive Framework Plan for the Urban Area, the Functional Classification map in the Transportation System Plan, and text and maps in the Bethany Community Plan, Chapter 2: North Bethany Subarea Plan.

Visualizing the Solutions to Deferred Road Maintenance

Long term solutions are needed to address deferred road maintenance in Washington County. The Board of County Commissioners is considering a $30 annual vehicle registration fee dedicated to maintaining our road system. That amount would bring many county roads up to adopted standards and keep them there for 15 to 20 years. Cities would receive 40 percent of the funds to maintain or improve city roads and some traffic signals could be updated to help move traffic more efficiently.
