The Washington County Shelter system prioritizes serving people who have experienced prolonged homelessness, are 55 and older, and/or are currently unsheltered (sleeping outside or in a vehicle). A shelter referral is completed either by one of our Homeless Services providers or individuals may contact Community Connect at 503-640-3263 and request the referral.
Because of the lack of affordable housing and shelter options in Washington County, there are many people already entered into the Community Connect system waiting for shelter placements to help them get back on their feet. These individuals will be prioritized for shelter entry.
In cases where the victim has asked to be notified, they will be contacted by phone (during business hours) or by mail. Victims are also encouraged to register with the Victim Information and Notification Everyday (VINE) network to receive automated notifications via email, text, or phone call. Once they are signed up, they can also check custody status information online at any time. Victims who have concerns about case notifications can call the Washington County Victim Assistance line at 503-846-8314.
You can call or email to make an appointment. You can also sign up online here.
We have many residents at the WCCCC, so we cannot allow you to make a personal phone call or leave a message. Staff may let residents know about messages that are about jobs, or are emergencies.

We attempt to contact all identified victims by phone or in writing. Because the confidentiality laws are very strict for juveniles, we may not be able to share as much information as you would like. We will do our best to inform you as much as the law allows.
You also have the right to tell us what your safety concerns are, what the harm to you or your family has been, and what you would like to see happen. We will share this information with the Juvenile Counselor supervising the youth. In court cases we will share the information with the Deputy District Attorney.

We recognize the many pedestrian and biking needs in Washington County, which far outweigh available resources. As one way to address these needs, we maintain a list of candidates for pedestrian and biking improvements. Current improvement candidates can be viewed on the Pedestrian and Biking Improvement Candidates Map.
If there is a specific sidewalk or biking improvement you would like to propose, please use the Pedestrian and Biking Improvement Proposal Form.
Candidates are reviewed when funding becomes available, and candidates eligible for that funding are then considered. Currently, the only program with funding for pedestrian and biking improvements is the URMD Pedestrian and Biking Improvement Projects program. To be eligible for that program, candidates must be located within the Urban Road Maintenance District (URMD).

If parents are in dispute over custody and parenting time, services are usually more effective when parties involved with an active domestic relations case are mandated to participate in mediation orientation and mediation. For assistance in obtaining an order for Mediation, parties may request the help of their attorney or, if self-represented, the Family Law Assistance program.
Emergency shelter programs are available throughout Washington County for people who are unsheltered. Unique sheltered programs are designed to help youth, families with children, medically fragile adults, couples, and even support people who have pets.
Washington County manages a centralized waitlist to determine which shelter program will work best for your needs, and the wait can be between 1 week to 6 months long. Please call Community Connect to get on the shelter waitlist.
