Important Dates - May 20, 2025 Special District Election (Click to expand)

• February 28, 2025 – Last day for governing body to file SEL 805 Request for Ballot Title with Washington County Elections Division. (81 days before election; OAR 165-014-0005)
• March 20, 2025 – Last day for district candidate to file declaration of candidacy, nominating petition or to withdraw. (61 days before election; ORS 255.235)
• March 20, 2025 – Last day to file or withdraw notice of measure election and any required explanatory statement. (61 days before election; ORS 254.095)
• March 24, 2025 – Last day to file candidate statements or measure arguments for county voters' pamphlet. (57 days before election; OAR 165-022-0010)
• April 4, 2025 – Washington County Elections Division mails ballots to all military and overseas voters. (No less than 45 days before election; ORS 253.065)
• April 21, 2025 – Washington County Elections Division mails ballots to all voters residing out-of-state (29 days before election; ORS 253.065)
• April 29, 2025 – Last day to register to vote for the May Special District Election. (21 days before election; ORS 247.025)
• April 30, 2025 – Washington County Elections Division mails ballots to all registered voters. (20 days before election; ORS 254.470)
• May 20, 2025 – Election Day. Washington County Elections Division will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Drop boxes will close at 8:00 p.m. We will post unofficial results after the 8:00 p.m. deadline. (ORS 254.470)

• June 16, 2025 – Certification of the May 20, 2025 election results to the appropriate elections officials. (27 days after election; ORS 254.545)

  All deadlines are at 5:00 p.m. on the dates indicated, except for the 8:00 p.m. deadline on Election Day.

Elections are held on the:

• Second Tuesday in March
• Third Tuesday in May
• Fourth Tuesday in August
• First Tuesday after the first Monday in November. (ORS 255.345)

Please be aware that the legislature may choose to call a special election at any time.
