This educational series is designed to help unpaid family caregivers take care of themselves while they are caring for a relative or friend with a chronic illness.

The mental health urgent care center will be a supportive place where adults and youth, including those in crisis, can receive care and assistance in accessing ongoing treatment and other helpful resources.

At their annual conference in Portland last week, the Association of Oregon Recyclers awarded its Recycler of the Year award in the education and promotion program category to the “Eat Smart, Waste Less Challenge.”

Washington County Public Health is reminding people to take precautions to avoid heat-related illnesses, such as heat cramps, heat stroke and heat exhaustion.

The ceremony takes place at 2 p.m. on May 30 at the Veterans Memorial Gateway in Hillsboro.

Early Learning Washington County has been awarded approximately 170 preschool slots. ELWC will contract with seven child care facilities, community-based organizations, Head Start providers and school districts to begin operating 16 classrooms in September 2016.
