The public is invited to a Memorial Day Ceremony on Monday, May 30, from 2-3 p.m., at Washington County's Veterans Memorial Gateway, located at the corner of NE 34th Avenue and Veterans Drive, Hillsboro.

The event will honor our nation's brave service members who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.

Washington County resident Wendall Pelham will serve as the ceremony's host. His son, Spc. John Pelham, was killed in Afghanistan in February 2014. The ceremony will also include special remembrances from the families of Navy Corpsman Ryley Gallinger-Long, killed in action in August 2011, and PFC Andrew Keller, who lost his life in August 2012.

The Memorial Day Ceremony will take place rain or shine, with covered seating available in the event of inclement weather. Attendees may park in TriMet's lot at the Fair Complex/Hillsboro Airport station.
