As winter hangs on, Washington County is extending the “carry chains or traction tires” requirement in snow zone areas through April 15.

The public is being asked to review and comment on the Washington County Department of Land Use & Transportation (LUT) Draft 2018-19 Road Maintenance Program.

Traction devices are no longer required in Washington County snow zones.

Traction devices are required in all three Washington County snow zones. Locations are as follows:<br />• 175th Avenue, between Scholls Ferry and Rigert roads.<br />• Barnes Road, 118th Avenue east to the County line, adjacent to a city of Portland snow zone<br />• Cornell Road, Cedar Hills Boulevard east to the County line<br />

Fern Hill Road has reopened to all traffic. The road was closed from Taylor Way to Geiger Road, using Washington County's new manual-locking flood gates, over the weekend due to flooding.

Fern Hill Road is closed to all traffic from Taylor Way to Geiger Road due to flooding. Motorists should avoid the area or use alternate routes.

Travelers can anticipate nighttime lane closures on portions of six Washington County roads for manhole and monument box adjustments starting Jan. 5.
