Washington County’s Department of Land Use and Transportation and the City of Tigard invite the public to attend an Open House on Thursday, October 17 for the Walnut Street improvement project. The event will be held at Charles F. Tigard Elementary School, 12855 SW Grant Avenue, Tigard. The public is welcome to stop by anytime between 5:30 and 7:00 p.m. to learn more about the proposed project design. No formal presentation is planned. Project staff from Washington County and the City of Tigard will be available to answer questions and to solicit comments.
This project will improve Walnut Street between 116th Avenue and Tiedeman Avenue and the intersection of Walnut Street and 135th Avenue. The proposed design includes a travel lane in each direction with a continuous center turn lane, bike lanes, sidewalks, and drainage enhancements. Improvements at the northern 135th Avenue intersection will either include the installation of a traffic signal or a roundabout.
This project is funded through phase 3d of the county’s Major Streets Transportation Improvement Program (MSTIP).
