Washington County's Department of Land Use & Transportation invites the public to an open house on Tuesday, May 19, 2015 for the Walker Road (Phase 1) and 158th Avenue improvement projects. The event will be held at Kaleo Covenant Church, 15900 SW Regatta Lane, Beaverton. The public is welcome to drop by anytime between 5 and 7 p.m. to learn more about the design for both projects and to provide comments for the project team. No formal presentation is planned.
The first phase of the Walker Road project will improve the roadway between 173rd Avenue and Schendel Avenue to two travel lanes in each direction with a center turn lane. The 158th Avenue project will improve the roadway between Walker Road to just south of Jenkins Road to two travel lanes in each direction with a center turn lane. Both projects will include intersection safety enhancements, continuous bicycle and pedestrian facilities, storm drainage upgrades, street lighting and landscaping.
Construction for both projects is anticipated to begin spring 2016 with completion by November 2016. Funding for both projects is provided through the County's Major Streets Transportation Improvement Program (MSTIP).
