Washington County’s Department of Land Use and Transportation and the City of Tigard invite the public to attend an Open House on Wednesday, March 19 for the Walnut Street improvement project. The event will be held at Charles F. Tigard Elementary School, 12855 SW Grant Avenue, Tigard. The public is welcome to stop by anytime between 5:30 and 7:00 p.m. to learn more about the proposed project design. No formal presentation is planned. Project staff from Washington County and the City of Tigard will be available to answer questions and to solicit comments.
This project will improve Walnut Street between 116th Avenue and Tiedeman Avenue to include a travel lane in each direction with a continuous center turn lane, bike lanes, sidewalks, and drainage enhancements. In addition to this project, improvements will also be made to the northern 135th Avenue intersection and will include the installation of a traffic signal and left turn lane.
This project is funded through phase 3d of the county’s Major Streets Transportation Improvement Program (MSTIP).
