Department of Land Use and Transportation hires Policy Analyst

Andrew Singelakis, Director of Washington County’s Department of Land Use and Transportation, announces the appointment of Christina (Chris) Deffebach as Policy Analyst effective February 11, 2013. Deffebach will assist Singelakis with policy development and intergovernmental coordination on local, regional, state and federal efforts involving the Department of Land Use and Transportation. She will represent the department on several regional planning projects and will also be actively engaged with the Washington County Coordinating Committee (WCCC), which meets regularly to work toward consensus on land use and transportation planning matters. Deffebach will also assist with strategic direction for county-led planning efforts.

“Chris’ significant experience in land use and transportation policy, planning and implementation in the region will be a real benefit to Washington County,” said Singelakis. Deffebach has both public and private sector experience and previously served as Planning Manager for Metro. She also holds a Masters degree in Urban Planning from the University of Washington.

Washington County’s Department of Land Use and Transportation is responsible for a wide range of transportation, planning, permitting and road maintenance services. The department is supported by an annual budget of approximately $200 million and is staffed by approximately 295 employees. The department has four divisions:
