Washington County invites the public to an April 24 open house for the upcoming Walker Road improvement project. The event will be held at Summit View Covenant Church, 15900 SW Regatta Lane, Beaverton. The public is invited to drop in anytime between 5 and 7 p.m. to learn more about the project. Project staff from the County, along with design consultant, David Evans and Associates will be available to answer questions and solicit feedback. No formal presentation is planned.
The proposed project will improve Walker Road between 173rd Avenue and Murray Boulevard to five lanes (two travel lanes in each direction with a center turn lane). Additional improvements include enhancing safety at all intersections, adding continuous bicycle lanes and sidewalks, storm drainage upgrades, street lighting and landscaping.
This project is funded through phase 3d of the County’s Major Streets Transportation Improvement Program (MSTIP). Construction is anticipated to begin in 2014 and be completed in Fall 2015.
