Washington County and the City of Beaverton invite the public to an April 10 open house for the Farmington Road improvement project. The event will be held in Beaverton High School’s cafeteria, at 13000 SW 2nd Street, Beaverton. The public is invited to drop in anytime between 6 and 8 p.m. to learn more about the project. Project staff from the County, City, and design consultant Harper Houf Peterson Righellis, Inc. will be available to answer questions and solicit feedback. No formal presentation is planned.

This project will make needed safety improvements to Farmington Road between Murray Boulevard and Hocken Avenue. Improvements include widening the roadway to five lanes (two travel lanes in each direction with a center turn lane), adding bicycle and pedestrian facilities, adding street lighting and upgrading utility lines. The project will also realign 141st and 142nd Avenues at Farmington Road.

This project is funded through phase 3D of the County’s Major Streets Transportation Improvement Program (MSTIP). Construction is anticipated to begin in 2015.
