Several HHS programs are moving back to the Public Services Building, now that the seismic retrofit is complete.

Memory Café provides a welcoming and supportive environment for those with Alzheimer’s Disease, dementia and memory loss, as well as their caregivers.

On September 10, 2019, the board passed a resolution authorizing HHS to take steps necessary to protect our community's ability to access health care and other critical services.

Washington County Public Health is relocating their Women, Infants and Children (WIC) program in Tigard. The new office will be located at 11515 SW Durham Road, Suite E8. The office is easily accessed by TriMet bus routes 93 and 94 on SW Pacific Highway (99W).

Health advice and places to stay cool during hot weather

Registration is now open for Buried in Treasures, a 16-week series to help people with their compulsive acquiring, saving and hoarding. The classes take place on Tuesdays, 2-4 p.m., from September 3 through December 17, 2019, at Juanita Pohl Center, 8513 SW Tualatin Road. The program is for adults of any age.

Washington County Health and Human Services (HHS) is working with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and other County departments to distribute naloxone kits at no cost to those with the highest risk of opioid overdose. Naloxone (brand name Narcan) is a lifesaving medicine that reverses an opioid overdose.

The Bonnie Hays Animal Shelter’s new summer event is called Paws on the Plaza. Just like Dogs on Parade in the past, the event will take place during the Hillsboro Tuesday Night Market, this year on July 23, 5:30 – 8 p.m., by the fountain in downtown Hillsboro.

On Tuesday, July 9, 2019, Washington County Public Health and Neighborhood Health Center (NHC) are hosting a free health expo for youth outside NHC's clinic on Main Street in Hillsboro.

The Bonnie Hays Animal Shelter in Hillsboro will be open on the Fourth of July from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. to take in stray animals and reunite lost pets with their owners.
