Need help? Start here.

Finding behavioral health help can be challenging. This page is a starting point for those who need help with mental health or addictions issues.

This page is intended for individuals who need help as well as providers looking for behavioral health resources for their patients, clients and others.

I need help NOW.

Call the Washington County Crisis Line at 503-291-9111 if you or someone you care about is:

  • Experiencing any kind of issue that is having a negative impact on your/their life at work, home or school.
  • Feeling depressed or anxious.
  • Having trouble with drug or alcohol use.
  • Thinking or talking about suicide.

The Crisis Line is answered 24 hours a day, seven days a week by experienced behavioral health professionals. Language is not a barrier. There is often a bilingual English/Spanish staff person available. Language support will be provided via an interpreter for any language needed. All calls are confidential.

Calling the crisis line gives you access to all of our crisis services. This includes a mobile team who can go to your location, as well as our walk-in center in Hillsboro. Learn more about our crisis services.

I need help finding a counselor or other behavioral health support.

There is no shame in asking for help. Treatment is available and can help you feel better and start feeling like yourself again.

If you do NOT have health insurance:

  1. You may qualify for the Oregon Health Plan (OHP/Medicaid). Learn more.
  2. If you don’t qualify for OHP, call 503-291-9111 to learn about providers that might be able to help you.

If you are on the Oregon Health Plan:

Look at your health insurance card. If it says Health Share, Trillium Community Health Plan, or Yamhill Community Care, this is the Oregon Health Plan (OHP or Medicaid). Call the number on your card and they will find a provider for you. Sometimes, your health plan will contact us for assistance in more complex situations. Find out more about how we help on our Oregon Health Plan Members page.

If you have health insurance through your employer or if you buy it on your own:

Look at your health insurance card. You will find a number for mental health and substance use treatment (usually on back side of card). Call the number and they will find a provider for you.
