Drop box, compactor and occasional container collection service
Residential and commercial customers in unincorporated Washington County can request drop box, compactor, or occasional container services to manage large amounts of waste. Contact your garbage and recycling collection company for service requests, cost estimates and container size recommendations.
Drop box and compactor roll-off service
- Total charges include disposal facility fee, delivery fee, mileage and a pick-up fee. May also include a rental fee if applicable.

- Customers may request materials be delivered to any permitted facility at the established “per mile” rate.
- Compactor customers may opt for regular collection schedule or an on-call collection arrangement with the collection company.
- Customers providing their own compactors must ensure it is compatible with collection company’s equipment.
Occasional container service
- Often used for smaller clean-up projects.
- Containers come in in a range of sizes from one to eight cubic yards.
- Charges include pickup fee plus mileage charge. A rental fee may apply after two calendar days.
Asbestos waste disposal
Asbestos is a naturally occurring mineral used in building and construction materials that can release tiny, hazardous invisible fibers into the air when drilled, sawed, damaged, scraped, sanded or shattered. Breathing in asbestos fibers can cause asbestos-related diseases and cancer.
- Construction and demolition materials are at risk of containing asbestos.
- Before disposal, your garbage and recycling collection company will request confirmation on whether the waste materials may contain asbestos.
- Oregon DEQ regulates the handling, removal and disposal of asbestos-containing material.
- DEQ offers additional information and resources to guide home and business owners through the proper disposal channels.
- Contact your garbage and recycling collection company for disposal options.
The County and garbage and recycling collection companies will take all reasonable steps to ensure language translation services are available at no cost to any community member seeking assistance with asbestos disposal.
