Washington County is committed to broad community engagement and offers several appointed boards, committees and commissions which allow community members to participate in the decision-making process.

The Committee for Community Involvement (CCI), made up of and led entirely by community members, serves as an advisory body to the Washington County Board of Commissioners. The mission of the CCI is to encourage and empower public involvement.

Washington County Community Participation Organizations (CPOs) are community-led organizations made up of neighbors who work together to improve their communities. CPOs welcome participation by everyone in the communities they serve.

Each Community Participation Organization has a Steering Committee made up of community volunteers. They are elected by their fellow community members to stay on top of the issues and deliver informative community meetings and events.

Your local community participation organization (CPO) holds meetings where neighbors get together and work together to help make their community a better place. Everyone is encouraged to attend!
