Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a crash where a sedan entered into the path of a semi truck. The drivers were the lone occupants in both of the vehicles. The driver of the sedan did not survive his injuries.

People were calling 911 to report that a man was using a knife to threaten people in the restaurant.

Deputies with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office will be conducting the Three Flags Seatbelt Blitz over the next two weeks. An off-duty deputy stopped to render aid to a 16-year-old female who appeared to be having a seizure on the side of the road. Further investigation indicates that she and another juvenile suffered from a drug overdose on a drug called "25i." One male juvenile was later arrested in relation to the overdoses.

Washington County Sheriff's Deputies will be on the roads providing extra patrol to enhance safety for this Super Bowl weekend.

Law enforcement officers dedicated to the detail completed 452 traffic stops yesterday between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Of those stops, 104 citations were issued for failing to maintain a safe distance from emergency vehicles.

Earlier this month, concerned citizens came forward to report suspicions that an Aloha High School teacher, Eric Wise, 37, was involved in a sexual relationship with a former student, who was underage at the time. Washington County Sheriff’s Detective investigated the allegations and arrested Mr. Wise.

Washington County Detectives received a report from the Department of Human Services (DHS) regarding alleged sex abuse by Michael Mallery, 48, of Portland who is the Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at Pacific University. Detectives investigated the allegations and a Grand Jury indicted Mr. Mallery for Sex Abuse I.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Citizen Academy is a 55 - hour training program that combines classroom and “hands-on” instruction to members of the community. The classes provide an opportunity to observe the inner workings of the Sheriff’s Office first-hand.
