Washington County Solid Waste & Recycling is issuing a reminder that severe winter weather may affect garbage and recycling collection schedules. If schools are closed, garbage and recycling (including yard debris) collection may be canceled. Collection will be made up the following day.

If adverse weather conditions persist (i.e. schools continue to be closed) for more than one day, customers whose collection service is missed will receive service during the next regularly scheduled period. On the next scheduled pick-up, customers should place their material from the previous week at the curb. There will be no additional charge for extra material up to twice the subscribed service.

Residents are advised to contact their hauler for up-to-date information. Hauler information and answers to other frequently asked question are available on Washington County’s website at www.washingtoncountyrecycles.org.
