Young named Washington County Surveyor

“We are pleased to have Scott step into this role, as he has a long history with Washington County,” said Andrew Singelakis, director, Washington County Department of Land Use & Transportation (LUT). “He has come up through the ranks in the Survey Office, and he will continue to provide excellent service to the community in his new position.”

Young has been with the Washington County Survey Office for 27 years. He started in 1990 as a Survey Technician I. He was promoted to Survey Technician II in 1996, Survey Technician III in 1998 and to Survey Supervisor (Deputy County Surveyor) in 2004.

Young has been the Interim County Surveyor since Jim Elam, the prior County Surveyor, retired in January. Young has a degree in Business Management from Western Oregon University

The Washington County Surveyor's Office oversees public land corners; partition, subdivision and condominium plats; survey records; street name approvals; and other surveying activities. The office is part of the LUT's Engineering and Construction Services Division.
