Background
Bonny Slope West, formerly known as Area 93, is approximately 160 acres that was included in the regional Urban Growth Boundary in 2002. On January 1, 2014, the area became part of Washington County. The Department of Land Use & Transportation's Long Range Planning section is developing a Community Plan that will guide future urban development in this formerly rural area. The Community Plan is intended to build upon existing community assets, balance the needs of stakeholders and assure compliance with state, regional, and county planning requirements.
Project timeline and future updates
The department's goal is to complete the Bonny Slope West Community Plan in fall 2015. The planning process will include future public hearings by the Washington County Planning Commission and the Washington County Board of Commissioners prior to adoption of the Community Plan.

Washington County is committed to planning and protecting the uses of the land and to building and maintaining a great transportation system--balancing care for the natural environment, economic development, safety and community livability.
